  • Buddy System : have an on-field partner.  Someone you can trust & work well with.  Know their voice and their call system.
  • Profile : Keep a small profile.  The larger and looser you are in your barricade the easier you will be to spot and hit.
  • Pre Fill : Try to pre-fill as many pods as possible before your game, that way you are not filling between points wasting time & paintballs when you could be helping your players on field.
  • Plan of Attack : Have a plan for the game or scenario your team is playing.  Make sure all players have a role.  Stick to the plan for best results.
  • Be One with the Forest : Use your surroundings as cover & diversion.
  • Seal the Deal : Always purchase the complete seal kit with your new marker, having the parts at hand will be invaluable and will pay for itself in dividends!  Tip Submitted by Nick Rauscher
  • Dress for Success : Wear the proper clothing for your playing situation.  Comfortable and breathable will allow movement when you play.
  • Aye, Aye Captain : Having a designated leader for your team eliminates the "too many cooks in the kitchen" syndrome many teams develop.  Follow your leaders instructions, he has the best interests of the team as a whole in mind.
  • Wash Up : Wash your paintball clothing immediatly when you get home. Use a pre-treater/oxy-detergent for best results in removing paint & grass stains.
  • Be Aware : Be aware of your surroundings. By constantly surveying your surrounding you will have a better feel for the game being played out and you may even find an opponent you didn't see before!
  • Communication : Devise a list of names for the bunkers or positions on the field.  Practise these with your team mates.  Keep constant communication with your team mates during game play.

  • Look Before you Leap : Survey the field before changing positions, don't start firing immediately.  First take a moment to read your field from your new position.  Notice angles, better positions and if you have any opponents within range of your positio

  • Print Outs : Print out copies fo the field layout & have every member of your team devise an attack plan.  Discuss the different plans during field walking and pick a plan best suited to your team & your team's strengths.  Even if you don't use everyone's plan at this event,  you will be building a "Game Play" book.

  • Take a Walk : Spend time w/your team walking the field before a game to understand the angles & places with the best cover.  Discuss your bunker names & field strategies.  A well rehearsed team will yield more successes!

  • Clean out your Gear Bag : Once a month, spend an hour & clean out your gear sack, including wiping down the inside.  Old paintballs & dirty socks might be lurking in the bottom, and are a breeding ground for bacteria.  Who knows, you might be lucky and find a twenty!

  • Map it Out : Know your field, whether its field walking or checking out the terrain on Google Earth, having a good solid idea of the field will help you plan your strategies.

  • Allen Keys are Key : Invest in a set of hex keys for your kit bag.  You can find inexpensive sets at your local hardware store.  A “Swiss Army Knife” style set means you’ll never lose a single loose key again.  Ball Ended hex keys work great for fitting into small tight places.

  • Serial : Take a picture of your gun with your cell phone, and keep the serial number with you.  In the unlikely circumstance that your marker is stolen/missing you'll have most of the information needed to file a report or insurance claim.
  • Get a Good Paint to Barrel Match : Paintballs are the most expensive part of your day, and a necessity as well!  If your paint is round and fits snug in your barrel your accuracy will improve dramatically and you will have less breakage!

  • Micro Fiber : Always have a micro fiber on hand.  Keep it in a zipper baggie to keep it clean between uses.

  • Learn your Marker : learn the basics to your marker.  How to service it, clean it.  Having a well working marker is very important to having a good day paintballing.

  • Teamwork : Keep the opposing team locked behind their bunker or barricade by constant communication with your teammates.  Know and understand the rolls of each member of your team and stick to the game plan.  Work together for the common goal!

  • Be Kind & Recycle : Be sure to recycle your plastic water bottle after use.  Another option to reuse your bottle is to cut half the bottom and and use it as a scoop for filling pods.   A standard 500ML water bottle fits perfectly into a pod!

  • Hydrate : Stay well hydrated during game play, and drink lots of water.
