Episode 2 : Pro Practice & Clinic
Hey Guys,
So things have been going good the last few weeks.
On Saturday last weekend, I traveled with pro players Pete Utschig and Bart Blonski, (two of the greats in our sport and friends I've known a long time) to an open practice at HeadRush Paintball located in Syracuse Upstate NY. HeadRush is an excellent facility ran by some great people. The open practice included several teams that are a part of the CXBL (Canadian Extreme Paintball League). I got to practice with Kingston Criminal Factory, Elmira Nemesis, and Mirabel Impact. Both Pete and Bart play for the Kingston team.
The CXBL teams gave me an opportunity to play some excellent ball, with some great players and I loved every second of it. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to scrimmage with them. I think between Pete, Bart and I we probably played 50+ games that practice. It was intense old school XBall!!! We ran breakout drills, tried out the first event field layout and just had a great time. When you are having a great time, working hard and seeing results that all equals a good practise, and this was a great practice!!!
On Sunday Pete, Bart and I drove to Laval Canada, (Which is about 20 minutes away from G.I. Milsim HQ in Montreal), so they could teach a clinic at Skorpion Paintball. The clinic went great and I think everyone came out smarter and learned a lot about paintball technique, strategy and theory. They taught an excellent clinic and I was honored to lend a helping hand for whatever they needed.
All in all, it was a great sucessful weekend and I look forward to the next opportunity I get to play with those guys.
Phoenix is coming up sooner than we think everyone!!!! (19 days and counting). So get back out on the field and get some work done!! Stay Hungry!!

Episode 1 - Intro
Hey Everyone...
My name is Chris Chernis, but everyone calls me Beaker.
The players on my first paintball team christened me Beaker and it has stuck ever since, I even play with a little Beaker figure on the back of my mask. I'm from Long Island, New York.
I've been playing since I was 16 and have been addicted to paintball since the first time I played. I was introduced to paintball by my neighbor, who shot me by accident over the fence. I went over to yell at him but was so entriged with the paintball marker he yeilded, we ended up spending the afternoon shooting everything in his backyard.
After finishing highschool, I enlisted in the army. I was active in the military for 5 years. The whole time I was in the army all I could think about was paintball and how much I loved playing. I have now finished my service, and I am fully determined to be one of the best pro players to ever play the game.
I work with G.I. Milsim and have given a great opportunity to share my expereiences on the road to becoming a professional paintball player.
I will be posting about events, playing tips, practice drills and all my dealings with 50cal!! So stop by every so often and check out some cool info about this upcoming 2010 season in the greatest sport ever invented!!! Its the life of a paintball player and we all know theres no other way to live!!! See you soon!!!
